England's strategic retreat to Abu Dhabi: Regrouping for Rajkot resurgence post-Vizag setback

England is heading back to Abu Dhabi for a brief interlude following the conclusion of the second Test in Vizag, which lasted only four days. Unlike their previous stay in India, where they had a practice camp in Abu Dhabi before the series commenced, this move allows the players to take a break and regroup before returning for the third Test in Rajkot.

This decision, aimed at providing players with a break from action, was disclosed by Rahul Rawat, an Aaj Tak correspondent. Rawat shared this information on X, stating, "The England team will not be staying in India for the next few days and will instead travel back to Abu Dhabi. They will be back in India just a few days before the start of the third Test in Rajkot.

After losing the recent game by 106 runs, England, led by Ben Stokes, finds the series tied at 1-1. Their pursuit of 399 runs for a consecutive win ended with a total of 292, marked by reckless shots and quick dismissals on a still favourable batting track. Apart from Zak Crawley's notable 73, no other batsman had a substantial stay at the crease.

The ordinary batting performance of former captain Joe Root and the crucial run-out of the current skipper, Ben Stokes, significantly contributed to the substantial defeat. The competitive spirit displayed by England in the opening game seemed to be absent in the second.

The victory was propelled by Yashasvi Jaiswal's double century, Shubman Gill's century, and Jasprit Bumrah's outstanding nine-wicket match haul. Bumrah's remarkable bowling earned him the title of Player of the Match, showcasing his crucial role in the much-needed win.
